Surfing, Swimming and Bathing

There are two beaches in Muckross which are only a short distance away. Trá Lobhair beach is ideal for surfing. The other beach, Trá Bhán, has a car park and toilets and is ideal for swimming and bathing. We visit a third beach in Kilcar where we do the Kayaking which is called Port a'Chabhlaigh and is across from Teelin.

Painting & Bird watching

The tranquil setting of Muckross Head makes it an ideal location for artists and birdwatchers. Muckross Head is home to large numbers of breeding seabirds and wintering geese and amongst its rarer inhabitants is included the Red-billed Chough.
